THE LIONS ROAD

  • End: Kyogle, NSW
  • Distance: 96km

Looking for a weekend road trip? Look no further than Lion’s Road – a 96km scenic drive running between the Summerland Way in NSW and the Mount Lindsey Highway near Rathdowney in QLD. For a few good KM’s you can expect a narrow one-lane road with winding corners and more than 25 bridges running over small creeks. The road was open in 1970 and is known as one of the best motorcycle roads in Australia.

VICTORIA:
GREAT OCEAN ROAD

  • Start: Melbourne, VIC
  • Mid Point: Port Fairy, VIC
  • End: Melbourne, VIC
  • Distance: 664km

Undoubtedly one of the greatest motorcycling roads in the world. If you’re the type of rider that enjoys a road less-travelled, you’ll be in your element here. The 159km circuit ride into the Adelaide wine country starts in Golden Grove and ends in Tea Tree Gully. Start on the roads going through Strathalbyn and finish in Macclesfield where you will discover a very quaint and enjoyable town of a little more than 800 people. River Angas has made for a beautiful and relaxing landscape, with stretches of countryside, the Adelaide Hills has a lot to see! Don’t forget to stop in at the many restaurants and wineries on your way back!


TASMANIA:
ROSEBERY TO WEST COAST

  • Start: West Coast, TAS
  • End: Rosebery, TAS
  • Distance: 38km

Tasmania seems to be a state of endless breath-taking scenery and roads that have been designed by motorcyclists themselves. This route is only a 38KM road through the Mount Murchison Regional Reserve, but you can head wherever your heart desires from here. As the highway continues west, you can pass Macquarie Heads, north to Zeehan and circle back to Rosebery. If you want to keep going, you can head to infamous Queenstown and ride via the picturesque Lake St. Clair, which we think is definitely worth the stop.

WESTERN AUSTRALIA:
WALPOLE TO ALBANY

  • Start:  Walpole, WA
  • End:  Yakamia, WA
  • Distance: 114km

This is another ride for those that enjoy more of an off-road adventure. The 114km road follows the south coast highway from the former lumber milling town of Walpole, with the option to take the more scenic path at Young Siding and explore the small towns along the way. Albany makes for a perfect lunch spot overlooking the beautiful beaches and you may be lucky enough to see whales at play in the waters during whale watching season. Other sights include the William Bay National Park, Elephant Rocks and the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk.
